How horizontal cutoff reuse works: Small planned fillers are allowed. Small leftover scraps are not reused. For example, if a 12-ft wall needs 10 ft + 2 ft to complete a course, the calculator uses one full 10-ft sheet and can cut another 10-ft sheet into multiple 2-ft filler pieces. Any leftover scrap under 4 ft is treated as waste and is not carried forward for reuse.
Vertical placement: For a clean vertical layout, match panel length to wall height when practical: 8-ft panels for 8-ft walls, 10-ft panels for 9–10-ft walls, and 12-ft panels for 10–12-ft walls. Vertical cutoffs are shown, but they are not credited toward reducing sheet count because reusing them can add horizontal joints and extra finishing work.
