THE IDEA
What Is a Budget Tool?
A budget tool is simply a tool that competes primarily on price. It may come from a smaller brand, use a battery interface you already own, leave out premium features, or sell directly through an online marketplace instead of a large dealer network.
That does not tell us whether the tool is good or bad. A lower-cost tool can be an excellent choice for a homeowner, a backup tool, an occasional-use specialty tool, or a project where premium-level service and durability are not worth paying for.
It is not a verdict.
The review earns the verdict.

Separate Claims From Results
RPM, BPM, torque, wattage, battery compatibility and other seller claims are labeled as claims until we can verify or observe them.
Use It on Real Work
We look at the jobs a homeowner will actually do: drilling, grinding, cutting, fastening, masonry, setup, controls, balance, heat and behavior under load.
Find the Tradeoffs
Lower price can mean compromises in service, long-term parts support, refinement, noise, electronics, accessories or sustained heavy-duty performance.
Tell You Who It Fits
The final question is not simply "Is it good?" It is "Is this the right tool for your workload, your battery platform and your budget?"
